Hey guys, I have five 30 pin SIMM prototype boards that are built and I'm not going to sell because the new version will actually show up as being connected in Vetus Pars. The five I have won't do that. It will only show up as unknown or the like. However, it will still function exactly the same. ...

@arnljot By the way. it seems you pretty much have to zip every file on this forum. Here is the .stl file for Vetus Pars model. It's in mm and was made in blender. I don't know every CAD or 3D software but I assume if you set the scale to millimeters it should be the correct measurements.  Vet...

this might have been a bit unclear now that I read it again. All CHANGING pins are set to HI-Z first. Then changed. The others don't change.

@arnljot Thanks for posting a workaround, Arn. I'm looking into it. Also, I'll see what I can do about posting files. A webmaster I am not.

I apologize for the documentation. I'm aware it is not up to par. It is on the TODO list.

For now it is fixed. There are future add-on boards in mind that might change that. You Weill be able to make your own too if you want. I'll be giving all of that info when I release the first board. It's coming soon. This has been a long few months. A lot stuff going on, my wife went to see her par...

I'll go over how it works. Also, I wouldn't leave a floating pin. All unconnected pins should be set to HI-Z. Power is given just like a HI/LO pin. It was easier that way because it doesn't add any new opcodes. Here is how the setup works. MCU --> shift registers --> 0 or 1 sent to individu...

@arnljot I made on but it was too intricate and hard to make so I threw it away. I haven't attempted another yet. I answered your other post. If you want I can add an .stl model here. no problem.

I have an STL model. would you like that?

PS: I get this behaviour regardless of how many lines of code my test has. 55 or 119, they all need the workaround to get onto the Vetus.

It would be nice to know what frequency they send, if it's meaningful to use for ICs that use a clock. I have a small collection of OKI clock chips, would be nice to put a little green sticker on them 🙂

Hardware question while bringing up a test for an OKI MSM6242B RTC. I scoped the chip's supply pin (pin 18, VDD) with a test running and it reads ~3.62 V, not the 5 V I'd assumed. The part itself is fine from 2–6 V, so that's not a problem on its own — but it matters because this chip only enables i...

There's no field in the GUI to mark which pins are supply and ground. For RAM/logic parts the tester clearly powers the right pins on its own, but with a type=6 part (an 18-pin MSM6242B RTC, VDD on pin 18, GND on pin 9) I'm measuring pin 18 floating — average wanders between ~0.9 and 2 V, never a st...

I'm seeing the same issue.   But the workaround which almost works for me is to first send the test to the Vetus, then do one run through (haven't tried skipping this step) and then back into USB-mode on the Vetus and then "Save on Vetus". This looks like a transmission bug over USB-seria...

Created the topic Technical drawing in Vetus Pars Help
Hi, Would you consider sharing a technical drawing of the mainboard with measurements and placements of the screw holes, switch, toggle buttons and usb socket. This way it would be much faster to quickly design case for it so that one doesn't have to pull out the calipers 😉

Hi, just received my Vetus Pars Retrochip tester now. So I signed up so that I can keep an eye on whats happening with this product. The first thing I came here to look for was if anyone was sharing a cool case design for it which I could 3D-print. 🙂
