VetusGUI for Windows x64 -- 0.1.0 beta 1 (portable)
================================================

Extract the entire ZIP to a folder you can write to, then double-click
VetusGUI.exe. Do not run it from inside the ZIP.

No installation or administrator privileges are needed to run the app.
The Microsoft C++ runtime is linked into the executable. No separate
Visual C++ Redistributable, Qt, .NET or Visual Studio installation is needed.
Normal Windows system components are still required. Intended for Windows
10/11 x64; this is not a 32-bit or ARM-native build.

PCB CONNECTION
Plug in Vetus, select its COM port, and click Connect. Close other programs
using that port. If no COM port appears, check Device Manager and the USB
cable/device driver. This folder does not install USB drivers.

FILES AND UPDATES
Your .chip, font and image files can be kept in any folder you choose.
Add Files adds chip files to the batch list; Load opens the selected file.
Save your edits and close VetusGUI before replacing it with a newer version.
To remove the app, delete its folder after moving out any files you want
to keep. There is no uninstaller or registry setup.

BETA CAUTIONS
Keep backups of valuable PCB content and original source files.
Chip readback cannot recover original comments or variable names.
Save/delete actions change PCB storage; Settings changes apply immediately.
After an interrupted write, inspect the PCB before retrying.
Image Delete is not implemented. Image Save uses the next slot selected
by firmware, not the highlighted slot. Only run tests appropriate for your
hardware; software checks do not establish electrical safety.

This beta is unsigned. Use the trusted forum download and supplied SHA256
checksum. Report the beta version, Windows version, PCB firmware version,
steps to reproduce and any status/error messages when reporting problems.
